1. Who we are & how to contact us

Clevera ("Clevera", "we", "us", "our") provides software that turns screen recordings into polished, narrated product videos. We respect your privacy and protect personal data under applicable laws, including the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA ("Data Protection Laws").

For data you or your company upload to Clevera ("Customer Content"), we act as a processor/service provider on your instructions under a Data Processing Addendum (DPA).

2. Scope

This Policy covers our websites, apps, and services that link to it, including trials, betas, demos, support, and sales. It does not cover third-party sites or services that link to or integrate with Clevera.

3. What we collect

3.1 Information you provide

  • Account & profile: name, work email, company, role, password (hashed), plan or billing identifiers.
  • Forms: name, work email, company, interests.
  • Support & sales: messages, attachments, meeting notes.
  • Payments: handled by our payment processor (e.g., Lemon Squeezy). We receive limited billing metadata, not full card numbers.

3.2 Automatically collected

  • Device & log data: IP address, device or browser type, OS or app version, timestamps, referrer, language.
  • Usage/telemetry: feature interactions, performance events, crashes, diagnostics.
  • Cookies/SDKs: essential cookies for authentication and security, plus optional analytics or marketing cookies if you consent (see Cookie Notice).

3.3 Customer Content (processor role)

Screen recordings, uploads, generated media, narration scripts or voiceovers, captions, timeline edits, project metadata, and aggregated embed view counts.

AI processing: We may transmit limited, necessary snippets of Customer Content (for example narration text or timing cues) to AI sub-processors solely to generate outputs you requested.

5. Cookies & similar technologies

We use essential cookies for authentication, security, and load balancing. With consent, we may use analytics or marketing cookies. Controls and details are in our Cookie Notice.

6. Sharing & disclosures

  • Sub-processors or service providers that help run Clevera (hosting, storage, AI or TTS, payments, support, analytics).
  • Customer-authorized recipients such as shared projects or embeds.
  • Legal or compliance to comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights and safety.
  • Corporate events such as mergers, acquisitions, or financings, with appropriate protections.

We do not sell personal information or engage in cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CPRA.

7. International transfers

Data may be processed in the UK, EEA, and US. Where required, we use EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum and we apply supplementary measures such as encryption in transit and at rest and access controls.

8. Security

  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • Role-based access control and least privilege.
  • Audit logging for critical systems and change tracking.
  • Network segregation and secret management.
  • Vendor risk management and confidentiality obligations.
  • Secure development practices, vulnerability management, and incident response with breach notification where required.

9. Sub-processors

Core sub-processors (illustrative, not exhaustive):

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) - storage (S3), CDN (CloudFront).
  • Laravel Cloud - hosting.
  • OpenAI, L.L.C. - LLM or TTS where selected.
  • Google LLC (Gemini / Cloud TTS) - LLM or TTS where selected.
  • ElevenLabs, Inc. - advanced text-to-speech voices where selected.
  • Lemon Squeezy - payments and invoicing.
  • OpenMeter - usage or analytics metering.
  • Featurebase - public changelog, roadmap, and feature requests (optional user interaction).
  • Support/CRM - Email and Slack channels.

Development and Operational Tools

  • GitHub - Source code repository (does not process your personal data)
  • Sentry - Application monitoring and error tracking

We maintain an up-to-date list upon request and notify customers of material changes in accordance with our DPA. Where available, we configure AI vendors to not retain or train on Customer Content.

10. Data retention

  • Customer Content: retained for your subscription term. On account closure, deleted within 90 days except limited data retained as required by law or to resolve disputes.
  • Application logs: typically 30–90 days for security and diagnostics.
  • Marketing: retained until you opt out or we no longer need it.
  • Backups: encrypted rolling backups with defined expiry windows.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and export your personal data. You can withdraw consent where applicable and you can opt out of marketing.

To exercise rights, email team@clevera.ai. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority such as the ICO in the UK or your local EEA authority.

California (CPRA): You have rights to know or access, correct, delete, and portability, and to limit use or disclosure of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CPRA.

We do not engage in automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

12. Children’s data

Clevera is for business use and is not directed to children. Users aged 13 and over may use Clevera. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact team@clevera.ai and we will delete it.

13. Third-party links & embeds

Our site may link to third-party sites (for example docs or roadmap) and allow embedding Clevera videos in third-party platforms. Your use of those services is governed by their policies.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. We will post updates with a revised "Last updated" date and provide notice where required.
